Norwalk Reviewing Sewer
Initial Goals of Task Force

OCTOBER 29, 2003

MAYOR KNOPP'S PROPOSED REVIEW OF CRANBURY NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND NEWTOWN AVENUE SEWER LINE

1. Establish Mayor's Cranbury Neighborhood Task Force as joint WPCA/Planning Commission/Neighborhood Association effort to review impact of Westport/Norwalk development proposals. Task Force to make recom mendations to WPCA re sewer line and to Planning Commission re Master Plan for Cranbury area. Members include:

John Atkin (D), co-chair (WPCA Chairman);
Bill Kraus (D), co-chair (Norwalk Planning Commission member and representative to SWRPA);
Tanya Court (R) (former SWRPA executive director);
JoAnne Jackson (R), President, Cranbury Neighborhood Assoc.
Gail Wall (R), Partrick Road resident, Norwalk Historic Preservation Trust
All meetings open to public and subject to FOIA.

2. Norwalk Dept. of Public Works to re-survey Newtown Avenue property owners to obtain up-to-date responses on sewer line installation

3. Norwalk Health Dept. to conduct review of septic system failure reports in Newtown Turnpike area

4. City to request updated "Poplar Plains" zoning application information from Westport developers and Westport P&Z

5. City to request updated proposal for White Barn property

6. City to request reconsideration of proposals by SWRPA Referrals Committee

7. City to request joint meeting of Norwalk Planning Commission and Westport P&Z Commission to review status of development in Cranbury area of Norwalk and Westport

8. City to provide traffic and speed counts on key Cranbury-neighborhood roads
